Day 49 - Saturday 18/11/2006
WE ARE OFF AGAIN !!
Nick Cs Shock arrived yesterday-thanks Mark at BMW stroud for being so efficient. Anyway customs decided to release it today and BMW Nairobi opened up especially to fix it on this morning. So Nick I went in the pouring rain to collect it-It passed the test so we are off tomorrow. We are both keen to get back in the saddle its been a long time without!
Tonight we are going to the Banda school(Where our Hostess is a teacher-Gogs) where they are having a pub night(also showing the rugby) to raise funds for a Hockey tour next Feb which will be partly around Cheltenham and Minchenhampton.Anyway Nick and I thought we should donate some tusker funds in aid of the good cause. So TZ tomorrow and hopefully a full days ride with no probs at the border which is only about 2 hours ride froom Nairobi.
Not much else to report on. Will be in touch
Nick G
Some confusion about our identities in the blog?? I am the good looking one - with a six pack!!!

Hi Nicks-- Glad to hear you are both mobile again :) Good Luck for the rest of your journey :) stay in your saddles :) :)
that's a six pack of Tusker I presume!!!
BLUE NICK, HANDSOME WITH THE SIX PACK OF TUSKER.
OBVIOUSLY IN GREAT NEED OF A NEW PAIR OF GLASSES.
ITS THE FANTA! THE GOUT HAS TRAVELLED FROM HIS FEET TO HIS HEAD!!!! POOR MAN MUST HAVE LOST HIS MEDICATION ON THE ROAD OUT OF PARIS......IS THERE ANY HOPE???????
So, Tanzania now! You are making progress. The beers are cooling, the wine is chilling and the braii is fired up & the pool is ready & waiting. Santa has the new address for 25th Dec. and a sack full of iPods for the Troops.
Will any of the C2C Club be in the area? We have a lot of sorting out to do. I hope we get the right Nick for Christmas.

WE HAVE TO STAY HERE AND MAKE SURE AT LEAST ONE OF THE NICKS GETS A FEW PINTS IN BEFORE NEW YEAR!
AFTER ALL HE'S SPORTING A NEW SIX PACK FROM SOMEWHERE!!!!
make sure Nick G is going home asap after arrival in Capetown and before the sixpack turns into a barrel :)
There will be enough time in CT to turn the six pack into a firkin! Yes I did say firkin!!
Celebrations all round that he has completed the trip and especially the thought that he will never have to sit on a motorbike again
COME ON NOW HANDS UP ALL THOSE WHO DIDN'T THINK NICK G. WOULD MAKE IT TO THE END OF THE TUNNEL HOUSE DRIVE LET ALONE PAST DOVER!!!!
FAIR DO'S MATE,JOKING APART, WE TAKE OUR HATS OFF TO YOU BOTH. NICK G.
YOU HAVE THE ADMIRATION OF THE MOTORBIKE WORLD BEHIND YOU. EVEN SOME OF US OLDIES WHO HAVE RIDDEN FOR YEARS ARE JEALIOUS IF THE TRUTH BE KNOWN. WE DONT THINK YOU WILL EVER BE ABLE TO GIVE UP THE BIKE. BETS ARE YOU WILL DO ANOTHER TRIP LIKE THIS SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE.
KEEP GOING BOYS!!!! ALMOST HOME!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Nick
I'm back from Arundel, it was nice to see Mary again. I am eagerly awaiting your next card, number 4. Hope the bike makes it to Capetown.
Love MUM
Great to hear you are cruising it now. Tanzania sound fantastic, game reserves, great roads - Malawi tomorrow and then Zambia. you will be in CT before you know it. Everyone is getting very excited. See you in three weeks
Can we have a little caution on the board please, some people seem to think the boys only have the equivalent of a trip down the M1 before they complete their journey. There is still a long way to go and the last thing we need is for them to start getting complacent. It's bad enough that NG thinks he has a six pack, having not met NC I cannot comment on his description as tall, dark and handsome but I have seen the photographs!! The sun has made them delusional. They need to be reminded of the journey ahead and the animals out there waiting for them!! Concentration, concentration, concentration!!!
Good luck for the rest of the trip.
Mac in Bak
Hey Nick C hope you wished your wife a very Happy Birthday !!!!!! :)
