Day 67 - Wednesday 06/12/2006

We are on our way.

At the time of writing we are in Plettenberg bay, about 400 miles north of capetown. In the last 2 days we have travelled through Southern Natal, the Transkei, the Ciskei and now into the Eastern Cape. It's really beautiful, but now we can almost see the finishing line we are finding it harder and harder to concentrate. We are going to enter Cape town on Friday lunchtime and officially end the challenge at the Mount Nelson Hotel. They have agreed to put us up for 2 nights and then it's party time!!
The bikes are limping a bit but enjoying some decent petrol!

bye for now nc

Does it matter why or for whom this has been done! The fact is Nick G. has a daughter with anorexia and research needs to be done into why this happens!!!!! and that is why they will be getting the money Nick G has raised with the best interests of others at heart and no other reason!!!!!! For all you sceptics...

Congratulations and well done. It seems like the whole of the Cotswolds and beyond is cheering you on. The messages are flooding in. CLIC Sargent and EDA have both expressed their huge gratitude for what you are doing for their organisations. Raising their public profile was one of your aims but to raise such an amount of money as well is fantastic.(They also think you are quite mad!!, but we knew that already!) What a wonderful feat and personal challenge for both of you. We know this trip has been tried by many adventurers but to complete it within you target of 10 weeks with time to spare - that's something else. Enjoy your well deserved pampering at the Mt. Nelson.

MAC IN THE BAK SAYS Normally I would not join in with any sort of praise for THE NOSE aka NG after what he put me through in the Kak and one or two other situations before that (Sherwood Bar!!)which we promised we would never discuss again!
However I think it is time to give credit where credit is due and raise a glass of dodgy vodka to the two intrepid heroes and their achievement. Well done and my 50p is speeding its way into your account right now!

As well as congratulations to the two Nicks, I would also like to say many thanks to the families involved, because without their love, help and support, this event may never have got off the ground. Many thanks to all those friends involved too. On behalf of all the CLIC Sargent families who will benefit from this event, a massive thank you to you all. June -CLIC Sargent

Congratulations to Nick and Nick. Having watched from the sidelines over the past eight-ish years I am in no doubt of the sincerity of your actions or the determination to make a real difference. Robyn, well said. Both you and Tom are indicative of how fragile, yet strong people can be. Never give up the fight.
All best wishes, Jon
